You are walking along a land bridge heading towards the Aerie. Looking up at the moonlit sky, you notice a bat flying high above the ocean. You continue your track towards the misshapen Aerie as your mind wonders why you decided to come here. The thought occurs to you that the bat was very far away, too far to be seen if it was a bat. You look up again and you are sure that you see a rider on the creature in the sky. This must be your mind playing with you. Nothing like that exists on Earth.

You hurriedly continue towards the Aerie. The bridge ends at an enclosed doorway. On either side of the teak door are two 'guards', both at least 2 meters tall (6 feet). You feel that you have stepped off the face of this Earth and into a time warp to the past. The ?guard' on the left, the female, has long black hair, dark eyes and skin. The other, the male, has dark brown hair and Mediterrean features. Both guards are wearing tight leather shirts and pants, but what bothers you are the war gauntlets hanging from their belts. Beside them, against the wall, hang crossbows, with quivers full of bolts.

The female smiles at you, and you think you saw a glimmer of red flash in her eyes.
